Spelling Bee between SJA vs. TMA vs. Sunnybrook!

Students were introduced to the summative today and they are required to bring in their devices tomorrow and Monday, June 4th. Please review the outline carefully.

Arts Night!

We went to The City Church for the afternoon and evening performance! Students need to arrive to the venue by 6:15 pm. Performance starts at 7:00 pm.

The math test was sent home today in agendas. Please sign and return for tomorrow. Thanks!

Arts' Night Rehearsal Day 2

Today was spent rehearsing for Arts' Night at the school auditorium. Students also wrote their math test today and we learned about dance through watching videos! Students got to practice some dance moves themselves too following a dance along.

We looked at examples on pg. 358 and 359 and on the board. Students worked on pg. 360 questions 1-3.

Students continued to work on their Mandala in class today! Students have completed their design and started to colour it in.

Learning goal: Students will start Unit 10 lesson 1 (Patterns in Multiplication)

We looked at examples on pg. 350 and 351 from the textbook. Students worked on pg. 352 questions 1-5.

Learning goal: Students will learn about the art element of shape

We discussed what shape is and how they could use various types of shapes to create their Mandala project. Students were given a template to create their own Mandala.

We also had Arts' Night rehearsals today!

Students wrote their spelling test today and learned about a Limerick Poem.

We looked at what a Limerock poem entails and examples as well. Students wrote their own poem afterwards.Students had a chance to share their poems if they chose to.

We also continued to practice for Arts Night! Please practice the moves over the weekend.

Learning goal: Students will learn about a Cinaquian Poem

Students presented their colour and shape poem from yesterday and the day before. They learned what a Cinquain poem is and looked at examples. They discussed what it expresses and how it makes them feel. They created their own poem afterwards.

The rest of the day was spent practicing for Arts Night!

Students learned about what a shape poems entails and they looked at examples. They created their own shape poem afterwards based on the shape they decided.

Students wrote their spelling words in their agendas and they started to work on lesson 33 activities in class.

Students wrote their Unit 8 math test.

Learning goal: Students will create a colour poem.

Students learned about what a colour poem is by discussing what it expresses and how it makes the students feel. We looked at colour poems together as a class and discussed the characterstics. We created an example on the board together and the students create their own colour poem.

Homework: Complete colour poem if not finished in class.
