Equivalent Decimals

Language

Learning goal: Students will write the second body paragraph of their speech.

Students worked on expanding the second body paragraph by referring to their graphic organizer. Students were reminded to make it entertaining and not simply just state facts.

Homework: Complete body paragraph 2 for homework if not completed in class.

Math

Learning goal: Students will identify equivalent decimals.

We looked at examples on pg. 118 and students worked on pg. 119 questions 1-4. Students learned that decimals such as 0.4 and 0.40 are equal. Decimals that name the same amount are called equivalent decimals.
Ex: 0.3=0.30
1.8= 1.80
0.6= 0.60
2.5=2.50

Homework: Math Sheet

UOI

Learning goal: Students will learn about meditation.

We watched a video on meditation, we discussed the importance and students were put into groups to complete a meditation skit. They practiced in class today and will be presenting their skit on Monday. Students were also introduced to their summative project today.

Re-registration

Dear SJA Parents and Guardians,

As you are aware, the re-registration season is upon us and we have recently sent home packages with your child(ren). We value your loyalty and commitment to our school community and would love to continue our partnership by offering priority enrollment for our current SJA families. We kindly ask that you take a moment to review your financial statement and complete the information in the package and make any necessary changes to your place of residence, employment, email changes or any medical information that the administration should be aware of. Please be aware that in order to secure your child’s enrolment, it is imperative that you submit your re-enrollment package and fees no later than February 12, 2018 at 4:00pm. After this date, all available grade-level spaces will be open to our families on waitlists who will then have the opportunity to secure any vacant positions.
