Reading Buddies
Language
Learning goal: Students will write body paragraph #3 for their speech.
Students used their organizer planner to expand their points for body paragraph 3. Students had to ensure they say something in each paragraph that would grab the audience's attention.
Math
Learning goal: Students will compare and order decimals.
We looked at examples on pg. 120 and 121 and students worked on pg. 122 questions 2, 3, 4.
Students learned how to order decimals from greatest to least, for example: 4.6, 4.55, 4.5. Students used the strategy of thinking where the numbers would go on a number line.
Homework: Math Sheet
UOI
Students started to brainstorm for their summative project. They followed the checklist in their UOI duotang to ensure they include all the information they need for their new religion. For those who are researching a religion of their choice, students used their researched information to help them gather the information they need about the religion.
Re-registration
Dear SJA Parents and Guardians,
As you are aware, the re-registration season is upon us and we have recently sent home packages with your child(ren). We value your loyalty and commitment to our school community and would love to continue our partnership by offering priority enrollment for our current SJA families. We kindly ask that you take a moment to review your financial statement and complete the information in the package and make any necessary changes to your place of residence, employment, email changes or any medical information that the administration should be aware of. Please be aware that in order to secure your child’s enrolment, it is imperative that you submit your re-enrollment package and fees no later than February 12, 2018 at 4:00pm. After this date, all available grade-level spaces will be open to our families on waitlists who will then have the opportunity to secure any vacant positions.
Regards,
Helen Markovic
Admissions Coordinator
