International Day Preparation

Language

During our morning Language period, students were introduced to the country they will be researching for International Day-- Japan!

Learning goal: Students will be introduced to the importance of International Day and their assigned country.

Students were asked to share what they already know about Japan and then were divided into research groups. They are required to bring in the information and pictures for their assigned topics this Friday.

Topics included:

Traditional Music/Dress- Aamna, Rajan, Himmat
Artwork/Dance- Carrie-Anne, Shane
Cuisine- Vanshi, Joshua
Cultural toys, games, sports- Mitansh, Sethumi, Emaan
Products/Exports- Yashmeen, Manny
Interesting Laws/Policies- Neel and Adn
Rules/Customs- Noah and Aanika

During the afternoon, students reviewed capitals and periods. We discussed the common mistakes and students practiced adding in the correct capitals and periods with assigned worksheets.

Homework: Research assigned topic for International Day and bring information/pictures this Friday.

Math

Students completed Unit 2: Whole Numbers Pre-Assessment in class.

UOI

Students completed their quiz on the map of Canada labelling the provinces, territories, capitals, oceans, and lakes.

After completion, students finished working in their assigned table groups for the Western Cordillera and Interior Plains region information.
