Morning Assembly: Warm Amps Presentation

Ms. Melissa came in from the War Amps program to talk about child amputees and what it means to be born with missing limbs. We have a student in our school who is a child amputee as well. Students enjoyed the presentation and had many questions at the end to ask Ms. Melissa. Students gained more insight into the importance of amputee children not being any different.

Spelling Lesson 2

Learning goal: Students will learn about short vowel sounds

Students read the story on page 9 and the TIP section on page 10. We discussed some examples of what short vowel sounds are on the board. Students wrote their spelling words in their agenda and completed lesson 2 activities.

Homework: Complete spelling lesson 2.

Math Unit 1 Test Review

Learning goal: Students will go through practice questions to prepare for the unit test tomorrow.

As a class, we went through the questions from the review and students came up to the board to show their work. Students at their table checked their sheets as we went through the questions together.

Introduce Regions

Learning goal: Students will learn about the physical regions.

Students were introduced to what physical regions are and how land forms and erosion cause physical regions. We looked at one video on land forms: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FN6QX43QB4g

After, we viewed a power point introducing the 7 physical regions and where they are located on the Canada map. Students will learn more in detail about each region by learning about their location, physical features, biological features, and resources tomorrow.
