Learning goal: Students will read "Anne of Green Gables" Chapter 13 and 14.
We talked about the summary of the book so far and I read out loud Chapter 13 and 14. Students completed comprehension questions in their duotang.
We worked on Science fair- writing the research paragraph and hypothesis for the project.
Math
Learning goal: Students will select an appropriate unit to measure linear dimensions.
We looked at examples on the explore and connect on page 308. Students learned that when they measure the length, width, height, and thickness or depth of an object, they are measuring linear dimension.
Students worked on page 310-311 questions 1, 2, 5, and 6.

Introduction to Summative
Students were introduced to their summative project today in which they had to choose to either create a LIGHT or SOUND signal of their choice if they were stranded on an island. The light signal would have to travel through the air and the sound signal would have to travel through the water.
Homework: Students have to research TWO ideas using the materials list to create a light OR sound signal. They will be brainstorming and drafting their ideas in class tomorrow.
